Frequently Asked Questions
What is Family Unit Coaching?
Family unit coaching is a personalized, 1:1 coaching experience designed to support families of neurodivergent children. Our trained coaches work with families to address specific needs and create a clear, targeted plan to help achieve those goals. Each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of the family and child.
How does the coaching process work?
Our coaching process begins with an intake call where we learn about your family’s unique situation, goals, and current challenges. After the intake, you’ll receive bi-weekly 60-minute coaching sessions where we provide guidance, strategies, and support. We also offer ongoing email support throughout the coaching package and for a period after it ends.
How do I know if my family needs coaching?
If you're feeling uncertain about how to best support your neurodivergent child or need help navigating the educational system, coaching can be a valuable resource. Coaching is especially helpful for families who want to improve communication, build better routines, or learn how to advocate for their child's needs within the school system.
What types of issues can family coaching help with?
Coaching can address a variety of challenges, including:
Navigating the IEP or 504 process
Understanding neurodivergence and specific needs
Building executive functioning skills like time management and organization
Strengthening school-family partnerships
Improving overall family communication
What is the difference between family coaching and therapy?
Family coaching focuses on practical solutions and strategies to help families navigate challenges and build stronger skills for supporting their child. While therapy addresses mental health concerns and emotional well-being in-depth, coaching is more goal-oriented and action-based, empowering families with the tools they need to succeed in everyday situations.
How long is the coaching process?
Our coaching packages are available in 3-month and 6-month cycles depending on your family’s needs. Families may also opt for shorter sessions like our Ask Me Anything calls for more focused support.
Does my child need to be a specific age?
We welcome families with children of all ages—from toddlers just entering early intervention to teens navigating high school and young adults transitioning into independence. Every stage comes with its own questions and challenges, and we’re here to support you wherever you are on the journey.
What is the cost? Is there a payment plan available for coaching packages?
After our 15-minute consultation, we will send you an email with pricing and packages. Please contact us for more information on payment options.
Can I choose which coach works with my family?
You will be matched with one of our experienced coaches based on your family’s needs. If you have a preference or would like to request a specific coach, we will do our best to accommodate that request.
